Attention Members
Special General Meeting, Saturday 8th June 2019
Under the Club's Rule 14, I have supported as Secretary a call for a
Special General Meeting so that information and details can be communicated on
a number of actions that the Committee have been faced with. The Rules also
state that 14 days notice must be given. The Special General Meeting has come
about due to a number of concerns being expressed by members. Under the
Rules/Constitution a minimum of 15 members must sign the request to stage the
meeting. This has been achieved. The Rules also specify that only the
"purposes" listed can be discussed at any Special General Meeting.
They are:
a) The Clubs Financial Position
b) The establishment of an Independent Employment Agreement position
c) Membership Issue.
The Treasurer has been requested to outline the Club's current financial
position.
The Committee has been advised by the Canterbury Employers Chamber of
Commerce to change the status of the club's contractual position to one of
basically a part-time employee role. An outline of the proposal will be given.
The Membership Issue relates to an incident that occurred between two
members recently. A prepared statement will be read. No discussion on this item
will take place.
The Special General Meeting will take place at 5 pm, on Saturday, June 8th,
2019 in the Clubhouse, Hororata Golf Club.
Your attendance will be welcomed.

Club Secretary
